Obsessed With Succulents
Several years ago our family became obsessed with succulents and cacti (and yes, all cacti are succulents, but not all succulents are cacti.) The more we became aware of the beauty of succulent plants, the more interested we were. There is something truly unique about these special plants. When we look at them, we are immediately amazed by their beauty and delighted by of all the different shapes, sizes and colors!
Why do we find succulents and cacti so unique? Well, one reason is their ability to thrive in hot, cold, and harsh environments. These plants have adjusted to survive in arid conditions, with their thick, fleshy leaves and stems that store water. This adjustment allows them to withstand long periods of drought, which makes them very flexible.
But it's not just their resilience that makes us obsessed with succulents. It's mostly their amazing appearance. The amazing amount of shapes and colors of these plants are truly fascinating. Each one seems to have its own personality, and its own unique beauty.
There are so many different shapes to admire. Some succulents grow tall and confident, reaching for the sky with their lengthened stems. Some others are hanging succulents, gracefully cascading down from hanging pots or rock crevices. The variety of shapes are truly astounding, and they never fail to be amazing.
And then there are the succulent plants that flower. Oh my gosh, the flowers! Succulents and cacti produce some of the most stunning blooms I have ever seen. From vibrant reds and pinks to soft pastels and even pure white, the colors are simply breathtaking. My personal favorite is a green plant with yellow flowers. The combination of these two colors brings me a sense of joy and calmness.
Just imagine walking through a garden filled with succulents and cacti. As you come up to a cluster of plants, you notice a flash of yellow peeking out from the green foliage. It's a succulent with delicate yellow flowers, like little rays of sunshine.
You can't help but smile as you admire its beauty. Nearby, a cactus with long, slender stems stands tall, adorned with bright pink blooms. The contrast between the spiky exterior and the soft, delicate flowers is simply stunning.
And so, the more you familiar you are with so many wonderful features, the more likely it is that you will become obsessed with succulents too!
You may find yourself collecting more and more of these beautiful plants, creating your own little haven of greenery and tranquility. Each new addition will bring you joy and a new appreciation for the wonders of nature.
And, succulents can have positive effects on your health. Some succulents, like Aloe plants, are known for their air purifying features. While they may not be as effective as some larger houseplants, they do release oxygen during photosynthesis and absorb carbon dioxide, which can help create a healthier indoor environment.
